Windows 7 Virtual XP BIOS Problem On Dell
I was pulling my hair out trying to get VXP to work in Windows 7 with my Dell E-Series Laptop. A Dell E6500 to be exact, although I’m sure this applies to any of Dell’s E laptops like the E6400 etc as they all have similar BIOS. So I’m posting this in hopes of helping someone.
I had a compatible processor and enabled hardware assisted virtualization support in my BIOS, however Virtual Windows XP kept telling me that I had to enable the BIOS support for it. I was soo frustrated. In the bios there are three Intel VT options… one to enable it, one to enable I/O for it, and one to enable trusted computing for it. The trick is to only enable the first one and not the other two. Don’t ask me why.
I hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for posting this one man. I too was pulling my hair out. Your solution was the trick. Seems weird that the other two settings would disable such activity.
